Goyon-Chazeau serving pieces are a clever and elegant complement to cutlery, for an ever more functional table.
Some of Goyon-Chazeau’s wooden boxes contain one or more serving pieces: bread knives, cheese knives, serving sets, carving sets or salad sets…
The manufacturing methods used for the products presented in these boxed sets comply with the quality criteria required by the Le Thiers and Laguiole appellations, two of the main lines featured in Goyon-Chazeau’s catalog.
The reputation of Goyon-Chazeau, twice awarded EPV label (Living Heritage Company) by the French State , stems from a long tradition of craftsmanship and rare know-how: French cutlery has specialized in stainless steel welding and forging.
This expertise is reflected in the quality and value of its service pieces.
This product category covers a range of utensils and accessories designed to perform specific functions at the table or in the kitchen: slicing bread or meat, tossing and searing salad leaves, delicately slicing cheese and pricking each piece to serve it neatly on the plate.
Some of these accessories are sold individually in box.
Others are sold in set of 2 or more pieces, forming a complementary set of service parts.
Le Thiers Prestige cheese knife from Goyon-Chazeau is distinguished by its formal elegance and finely studied technical features.
Its curved blade makes it easy to cut through rind and paste. Its two prongs allow you to prick the pieces and grasp them firmly, without altering the texture of even the softest cheese.
The 10-centimeter blade is forged from highly corrosion-resistant and hardened steel. The stainless steel used, enriched with chromium, molybdenum and vanadium, achieves a very high level of hardness and ensures a long-lasting cutting edge.
The handle is made of wood or horn. Its ergonomic shape ensures a comfortable grip.
Le Thiers cheese knife conforms to the exacting criteria of the “Prestige” line: the quality of the materials, the balance between blade and handle, a beautiful and ergonomic design, the numerous finishes.
The cheese knife is also available in Laguiole Prestige line.
Le Thiers bread knife, from “Prestige” line, comes in an oak wooden box.
The blade, made of high-performance stainless steel, is long (20 cm) and has a wide serration. Its double grinding ensures precision cutting and slicing without crushing, even when the crust is very firm and the crumb very soft.
The 11-centimeter handle is made of noble wood or horn, prestigious materials that fill it with elegance: deer horn, olive wood, juniper burl, buffalo crust, cattel horn …
The set features two bolsters forged at the same time as the blade and handle, one at the front of the handle, the other at the back.
This Le Thiers knife is also suitable for cutting viennoiseries, brioches and pizzas.
The bread knife is also available in Laguiole Prestige line.
This carving set includes two Laguiole serving pieces: a large knife and a large chef-style carving fork. These two products are used in tandem to form a coherent whole:
The two pieces in this set feature all the characteristics of Goyon-Chazeau’s top-of-the-range forged flatware: plunge line, brilliant finish, two forged bolsters at both ends of the handle in wood or horn, the “shepherd’s cross” pitting points of “Laguiole” (in “T” for Le Thiers), chiselling…
Le Thiers Prestige line also includes a carving set.
Laguiole Prestige salad set from Goyon-Chazeau consists of a salad spoon and a salad fork: both facilitate the mixing of the various salad ingredients, ensuring even distribution of dressing and ingredients.
The fork, with its curved prong extended by two short, wide tines, helps to grip and hold salad leaves, vegetables and other slippery or bulky ingredients in place. This prevents pieces from slipping off the fork when serving.
The two serving pieces are roughly the same length (26 centimetres). The handles, about ten centimetres long, are made in wood or horn around a skeleton forged in 18-10 stainless steel.
These salad service pieces embody Goyon-Chazeau’s craftsmanship, offering distinctive features such as:
The salad set is also available in Le Thiers Prestige line.
The production of Laguiole or Le Thiers serving pieces, cutlery and knives requires compliance with a number of methods in the manufacturing process.
Renowned for its craftsmanship in forging and stainless steel welding, Goyon Chazeau, a major player in the cutlery industry in Thiers (Puy-de-Dôme), located 5 kilometers from the city of Thiers, complies with all these requirements, thus helping to safeguard and protect the historic Le Thiers and Laguiole models.
Each stage of production is meticulously controlled to guarantee the impeccable quality of our serving pieces.
All parts (head, bolsters and handle) are forged simultaneously from a single bar of steel to ensure strength and durability.
Blades are tempered.
The handles of our knives, forks and spoons, designed in precious wood, horn or modern materials such as pearlescent acrylic, are shaped and polished by hand, offering a comfortable grip and refined aesthetics.
Le Thiers and Laguiole items in Goyon-Chazeau’s Prestige range are characterized by their delicate chiselling work, a finishing process carried out with artisanal precision that gives each piece a unique character.
Final assembly is also done by hand, guaranteeing perfect fit and impeccable finish.
